You Will Leave Confident You Understand The Requirements, Your
State of Compliance, and Use of Risk Management & Reliability
Tools
Plant aging, recent events and OSHA modernization call for attention to Mechanical Integrity. Changes to requirements may mandate you have a process safety management (PSM) program in the future. Our workshop provides the knowledge you need to enhance or implement YOUR Ml PROGRAM. The Workshop is divided into the following sessions or modules:
1. Short Course on the OSHA 1910.119(jl Rule on Ml will Cover: • Application
• Written Procedures
• Training
• Inspection Testing and Maintenance
• Equipment Deficiencies
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control Key Management Systems are reviewed along with the inter-relationship of the Ml Rule with other elements of PSM: Documentation, Maintenance/Inspection and Testing Management, and Deficiency Resolution (or as it is sometimes referred to – CAPA).
2. MI Program Metrics and Gap Analysis:
Practical exercises are used to help identify and understand opportunty for improvement and metrics you can use in the future to measure effectiveness of your mechanical integrity program. By working through some pertinent examples you will understand the value of essential management systems and how you might improve them. You will leave with tools you can use to complete a gap analysis and develop a plan for improvement.
3. Technical Tools: A. Inspection Program & Should I Do RBI? – We will review implementation and management of an inspection program and introduct you to basics of Risk Based Inspection. The use of risk calculations/examples will provide an understanding of the relationship between criticality results and inspection planning. You will leave with an understanding of where risk based inspection can be useful.
B. Risk Management of Program Elements and Deficiency Resolution – Risk based principles can be used to effectively prioritize and manage program implementation and deficiency resolution can be one of the best ways available for continuous improvement. By working through the steps involved in prioritizing major issues found during the gap analysis using risk principles and by execution of a CAPA procedure, effective resolution of non-conformances and root cause disposition will be covered by example.
lld Flange Leak Management – We will introduce you to the essential elements of Flange Assembly and Management of your contractors/personnel to help you understand how to ACHIEVE leak free
startup. Development of work packs WITH detail assembly procedures and management tools will be covered.
D. Software -AUGUSTUS WILL introduce you to available software solutions to the above, including free demonstration copies should you desire.
